Borderlands 2 is being developed for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and will be released on September 18th, 2012 in North America and September 21st, 2012 internationally.

A pre-release demo or public beta can be extremely time-intensive from a development standpoint, and we’d prefer to focus that time and energy on making the game the best it can be. However, feedback and testing is extremely important. To that end, we often invite gamers in the Dallas / Fort Worth area to Focus Test our in-development products and provide feedback. Yes, the PC version of Borderlands 2 will be available on Steam. In addition, all copies of Borderlands 2 PC will be shipping with Steamworks, so even copies of Borderlands 2 PC purchased at retail can be added to your Steam Library and utilize Steamworks features like multiplayer matchmaking, Steam Cloud support, Steam Achievements, auto-updating and more.

Cross-platform multiplayer is something we'd really like to support, but is also something that historically been pretty tricky to implement across all platforms. It's something we're continuing to look into, both for Borderlands 2 and our works beyond, and hopefully something we'll be able to do in the future.
