Mit The Last Guardian hat Fumito Ueda ein echtes Meisterwerk auf der PS4 abgeliefert. Eine Fortsetzung ist zurzeit wohl unwahrscheinlich, jedoch bestätigte Ueda nun im Rahmen einer Preisverleihung, dass er bereits an einem neuen Projekt arbeitet. Details dazu ließ er sich allerdings noch nicht entlocken. Mit dem Studio genDESIGN kann Ueda unabhängig von Sony arbeiten, es ist daher nicht garantiert, dass es sich bei dem Projekt wieder um einen exklusiven Titel für die PlayStation handeln wird.
